Woman was killed uder RTC bus

HYDERABAD: A woman died while six students escaped unharmed when an RTC bus hit a two-wheeler and then an auto rickshaw carrying school students in Abids on Friday.

Abids Police said the accident occurred around 15:45 near the petrol bunk front Gun foundry SBH branch. Prema Latha G, 50, who was a passenger riding a two-wheeled vehicle, was crushed under the wheels of the RTC bus that was en route from Lingampally of  Koti. "Prema Latha traveling with her husband, Ramanacharyulu and fell into the right side and went straight under the wheels of the bus. Ramanacharyulu suffered minor injuries," Deputy Inspector K Ranga Abids Subbaiah told TOI.


The bus driver was hit a car that was full of six students who were on their way home from school. Fortunately, all six escaped without injury. The children were students Sujatha High School and were on their way to Moghulpura.

Prema Latha was a resident of Raidurgam where her husband is a priest in a temple. They were on their way to Koti. The bus driver fled the scene shortly after the accident. Abids police registered a case under Section 304A (reckless and negligent driving) of Indian Penal Code against him.
