MP Anjan Kumar Yadav fights for priority in Temple

HYDERABAD: Alleging that personalities were not being treated properly, MP Anjan Kumar Yadav on Sunday picked an argument with police officers in Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Hyderabad, where hundreds of thousands of devotees had gathered to celebrate Laskhar Bonalu.

Several personalities, including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, had to take priority in the temple where the priests performed special pujas for them, while hundreds of thousands of devotees waited for hours in a queue for their turn to enter.

While stopped of CM in the temple, devotees were denied the entry into the inner sanctum of about 15 minutes. Annoyed by this, some of them chanted slogans against Kiran Kumar.

Later, when the minister of textiles G Kumar Prasad tried to enter the temple directly found the road blocked by police personnel denied entry. As deputy commissioner of police (DCP), North Zone, Ch Srikanth came to the temple where the minister complained about his family being made to wait outside.Although the PCE was to assure the minister that his family would join allowed inside, Yadav, who was inside the temple, came to the scene and picked an argument with the police officer. But other senior police officials intervened and solved the problem.
